North Carolina red or silver maple makes up the majority of this substantial cutting board. The other woods involved are canary wood and macacauba, very hard and beautiful woods. I can alter the woods slightly if you prefer. I also often use sugar maple which is a bit more uniform in appearance--lighter and with some light brown patterning. Very hard. We can discuss before or after you order.
The dimensions are 19.5" with the handles by 11", and it weighs a whopping 8.5 lbs.
It is really this pretty in person! The "figure" of the wood makes it look almost shimmery in good light. This beautiful, reversible board will last a lifetime with proper maintenance (essentially, keeping an oil or wax on it, and not putting it in the dishwasher).
