This unique looking cutting board features beautiful canary wood from Africa, domestic maple, and teak from Asia. The edge treatment on all four sides is a bevel of about 25 degrees--a look you almost never see on a cutting board. Yet, because of it, one can get one's hand under the board a little bit in order to take one's chef's knife and scrape the cut items into one's hand (or a low plate). As well, it makes it easy to pick up with one's hands.
Canary wood and "hard maple" (e.g., sugar maple) are very hard woods, and teak is pretty hard and durable as well. All are known to resistant to moisture.
The dimensions are 10.5" x 15.5" by 1.5" and weighs almost six pounds.
Sand the top down a millimeter or so to reduce knife marks once a year, and oil it once a month, and this thing will potentially last forever.
