Limba heartwood with a canary wood base. Tung oil finish. The fossil is an authentic ammonite, which is a fascinating sea creature from an era long ago (and was discovered in Madagascar). It is approximately 6.75” tall, 7.5" wide and it weighs 2.75 lbs.
Clearly, there are two different pieces pictured here. They both have sold, but I could easily remake something very similar (with a new ammonite, that is).
These pieces of art are not cheap--in part beause of the effort required to dig out a perfect concave space for the fossil to sit in, but also the fossil itself costs me $50--because they are THAT unique and THAT beautiful. Rest assured, this is not only a quality item that should last forever, but I promise you you're the only person in your state to have this exact design with this beautiful of a fossil.
